After nearly 10 years of dating, Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, are officially headed to the altar.

The two met back in 2016 when Georgina was working as a sales associate at Gucci in Madrid. Her coworker asked her to stay past closing for a client who was coming in. That client turned out to be Cristiano. They kept things professional at first, but they eventually began dating, ultimately making their relationship public with their first red carpet appearance together — along with Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr. — at the Best FIFA Football Awards in January 2017.

"I felt something inside that can't be explained, as if we had known each other all our lives," she told Vogue Arabia in May 2025. The famed Portuguese soccer player has five children: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., 15, whose biological mother he chose to keep private; 8-year-old twins Mateo and Eva, who were born via surrogate; Alana Martina, 7, and Bella Esmerelda, 3, who are Georgina and Cristiano's biological children together.

Throughout the years, the couple has shared bits and pieces of their life together on social media, from extravagant trips to sweet family moments.

And fans got an even closer look inside their world, when Netflix debuted I Am Georgina — a docuseries exploring Georgina's upbringing, and her life as a model, entrepreneur, mom, and life-partner to Cristiano. The show debuted in 2022 and ran for three seasons.

"We had a very special start to our relationship," Georgina said in her documentary, per People. "Many times he'd come after work. He would come, I remember once, once in a Bugatti. My coworkers went crazy. They get there on the bus, and I would leave in a Bugatti. I mean people couldn't believe it."

After being together for so long and starting a family together, many fans questioned why Cristiano hadn't asked Georgina to marry him yet. He was even asked about it in the documentary, and this was his response:

Well, ladies and gentlemen, he finally got his "click," because on Monday, Georgina announced on Instagram that they were engaged. She showed off a massive diamond ring, as her hand topped his, with the caption, "Sí, quiero. En esta y todas mis vidas." It roughly translates to, "I do. In this and every lifetime."

She was showered with congratulatory messages from fans and friends like Camila McConaughey, Bebe Rexha, Jana Craig, and more.
