Gifts for travelers should focus on ease and peace of mind. Even the most seasoned globe=trotter can find traveling stressful. Between packing, navigating overcrowded terminals, and living out of a suitcase, it can be overwhelming. Most jet-setters have their travel routine down to a science, but the perfect gift can enhance any experience, whether it's a three-day business retreat or a two-week adventure across Europe.

We’ve put together a list of essentials and luxurious gifts for travelers, from noise-canceling headphones to a weekend bag that carries it all. Be sure to check out our other gift guides as well, including the Best Gifts for WomenGifts for Coworkers, and Best Stocking Stuffers.

Updated November 2025: We've added Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Carry-On Set, Jack & Rose Travel Steamer, July Carry On with CaseSafe, and the Dyson Supersonic r. We’ve also updated links and prices.

  • A Trackable Carry-On

    July

    Trackable Carry-On With CaseSafe

July's latest suitcase has CaseSafe, built-in technology that is a Bluetooth tracker that works with both Android Find Hub and iOS Find My. Simply open the suitcase, locate the tracker, pull the tab, and pair it with the respective app. There's also an ejectable USB-C rechargeable power bank beneath the handle. You can easily smarten up an old suitcase by adding an AirTag and a power bank, but having them built in means you cannot lose the tracker in a stray sock, and I like that the battery is accessible, so you can pop it out in case you need to gate-check your bag.

In every other respect, July makes suitcases that many WIRED staffers have been happy with. I particularly like the wide range of heights on the handle and the distinctive, protective bumpers—my own two kids have played Bumper Suitcase while riding on July luggage at boring moments in the terminal, and they are still undamaged. It's worth noting that the carry-on is slightly too wide to meet some domestic airlines' size specifications, so check your favorite airline before you buy any suitcase. —Adrienne So

    Eagle Creek

    Pack-It Reveal Carry-On Set

Frequent travelers who don't use collapsible cubes when packing are struggling, and they don't even know it. Give them this travel tip: Eagle Creek's set is the best, made of durable fabric with high-quality zipper pulls. Editor Kat Merck says there's just enough mesh for air circulation to prevent odor buildup or fabric degradation, and the bottom and back of the cubes are opaque for privacy. They're water-resistant and designed with a top handle. The largest cube in this set is also split into two sections for clean clothes and dirty laundry. Eagle Creek sells sets for extended stays or slim shapes.

    Supersonic r Hair Dryer

If precision, speed, and a lightweight build are all important to your frequent traveler, the Dyson Supersonic r is at the top of the market. It weighs just 0.7 pounds, which is 30 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter than other Dyson dryers—a game changer when every pound counts. It comes with five RFID-enabled attachments that auto-adjust heat and airflow to your last-saved preferences. Read my full review here.

  • A Travel Steamer

    Jack & Rose

    Travel Steamer

For years, I thought I could avoid ever having to iron anything by only wearing clothes that don't wrinkle. This is an impossible ask, and everything wrinkles when you travel, so I finally caved and bought this travel steamer. It has a 100- to 200-volt range, so you can use it overseas. It's incredibly compact, heats up quickly, and is easy to use. The brand notes that its wrinkle-releasing capabilities are not comparable to a full-size steamer, but I found that even on the lowest setting, it removed wrinkles in one or two passes from my son's and husband's dress shirts on a recent trip. It's also slim and attractive on your bathroom counter. —Adrienne So

  • Travel Size Toiletries

    Ries

The Essential Refillable Travel Container Set

These Ries refillable bottles already come in a gift box, so half the job is already done for you. I love the rich pine green, which is festive for the holidays but still timeless enough for year-round use. Five airless pump bottles—three for your essentials (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) and two for skin care (face wash and a blank bottle to go rogue). They're all TSA-approved: Each bottle is 3.4 ounces, except the face wash bottle, which is 1.7 ounces.

Passport Holder & Luggage Tag Set (Safari)

Rifle Paper Co.’s illustrated set—which includes a passport cover and luggage tag—is designed by cofounder Anna Bond, who uses gouache to craft her signature floral illustrations. Plus, it’s pre-packaged in a gift box. If you want to take it up a notch, Rifle Paper Co. also sells a matching packing cube set, a travel journal, and a cosmetic case.

  • A Soft-Sided Carry-On

Image may contain Baggage Suitcase Accessories Bag and Handbag

    Photograph: Adrienne So

This is our favorite carry-on; plus, Away has always been a WIRED-approved luggage manufacturer. Editor Adrienne So recently tested the company's newest soft-sided suitcase and loves it. It's on the heavy side (9.2 pounds), but it's feature-rich, with a flat-top opening that gives it a tiny footprint in your hotel room, hidden front pockets, and multiple pockets on either side of an interior compression panel. It’s also gorgeous, nests inside Away's larger checked luggage, and rolls like a dream.

  • Universal Power

    Ceptics

    World International Travel Plug Adapter

No one wants to be scrambling for an adapter during a layover or post-flight. When it comes to international travel adapters, the Ceptics World model is compatible with most regions (EU, UK, US, Australia, and China), so you’re covered almost anywhere you land. It also has three USB-A ports and two USB-C ports, so you can charge multiple gadgets at once. Your phone, laptop, tablet, and so forth will thank you.

    Amazon

    Kindle Paperwhite (2024, 12th Generation)

The Kindle Paperwhite is the obvious gift for your bookworm friend. Reviewer Nena Farrell says the 12th-generation model has the highest contrast ratio on any Kindle and lasts up to three months on a charge. Its 7-inch display is crisp and easy on the eyes with its warm backlighting, whether it be in direct sun or a dim plane cabin. Plus, it’s water-resistant enough for poolside reading. The Signature Edition adds wireless charging, auto-brightness, and double the storage at 32 gigabytes.

  • Never Lose Baggage

    Apple AirTags

Airports are chaotic enough without worrying about losing your luggage. I know AirTags can be a bit divisive, but they’re the best way to keep tabs on your valuables if you have an iPhone. Set up with the Find My app, and you'll always know where your bags are—even when the airline doesn't. Plus, with busy flights often leading to last-minute gate checks and delays, AirTags are well worth the extra security.

If your loved one is an Android user, we recommend the Chipolo One Point. Our Best Trackers guide also has more options.

  • MagSafe Travel Wallet

    Case-Mate

Soap Bubble Magnetic Wallet for iPhone

This is former reviewer Brenda Stolyar’s favorite MagSafe wallet. It’s by far one of the roomiest she’s tested, with enough space for five credit cards, cash, and some change. It’s sealed with a snap closure, so it’s chunkier than some other MagSafe wallets, but that extra space is a blessing when you’re carrying multiple currencies.

    Got Bag

    GOT BAG Moonbag Small

Every tourist needs a sidekick, and this GOT sling bag fits the bill. Wear it over the shoulder, as a crossbody bag, or around the waist. It’s roomy enough for all your travel gear: a phone, a wallet, a compact point-and-shoot camera, and a few other small essentials. I also love that it’s mainly made from recycled Ocean Impact Plastic.

  • Silence That Travels

    Bose

    QuietComfort Ultra Headphones

Long flights can be a brutal test of endurance, but with Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, they don’t have to be. Bose remains our top choice for high-quality noise cancellation, cutting through the chaos, including that crying baby in 22B. With up to 18 hours of battery in Immersive Audio mode (or 24 without), they’ll last through the long hauls.

If you’re after something more budget-friendly, check out our Best Noise-Canceling Headphones guide, Best Wireless Headphones guide, or consider the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds for Bose’s noise-canceling magic at almost half the price.

  • Airplane Audio Upgrade

    Photograph: Twelve South

Airplanes are still living in the wired age, but thanks to the AirFly Pro 2, I can watch all the Big Bang Theory reruns I want in cordless bliss. Twelve South recently upgraded one of the most helpful accessories it offers. Just plug it into the seat-back jack, pair it with your wireless headphones (or earphones) via Bluetooth, et voilà!—you’re set for in-flight entertainment sans the questionable airline earbuds.

The AirFly Pro 2 connects to most 3.5-mm audio jacks, from treadmills to gaming devices, so it’s a thoughtful gift idea for anyone who wants to stay connected on the go. The newer version has some great upgrades, like physical volume buttons and an updated Qualcomm chip for better sound, but you can still get the older version for about $20 less.

  • Comfort in Coach

The Trtl Neck Pillow is the ideal red-eye or road trip companion. Instead of constricting your neck in a doughnut, these scarf-style travel pillows have an internal frame that cradles your head without physical strain. It's lightweight—just half a pound—and packable; you can stuff it into its accompanying storage bag and clip it onto your travel bag when not in use.

  • Morning Brew

    Photograph: Amazon

For the camper or caffeinated wanderer in your life, the AeroPress Clear guarantees a robust cup of coffee in the morning, an afternoon pick-me-up, or an evening espresso (no judgment here). Contributor Joe Ray swears that it brews coffee just as well as the Original AeroPress or the Go model. It’s also easy to clean, and with six additional colors, it adds a splash of personality if you have a somewhat blah-looking coffee setup.

When you’re traveling, your legs deserve a little TLC, and Bombas is just that. Available in men’s and women’s, these medium-compression socks (15-20 mmHg) boost circulation, reduce swelling, and help speed recovery after long days of travel and sightseeing. Bombas also gives back with every purchase, donating a pair of socks to someone in need.

    Moment

    Everything Tech Organizer

For the individual who’s always losing chargers (guilty), the padded Moment Tech Organizer almost makes it impossible to be disorganized. With six elastic cable holders and multiple compartments, this is the best gift for the digital nomad or a creative wanderer. It even has a “junk drawer” for power banks and other miscellaneous travel items. Moment also offers a mini version that I carry in my everyday tote bag.

Reviewer Nena Farrell loves this electric toothbrush for travel. It comes with a carrying case and extra brush heads for when you’re scrambling for spares mid-trip. Equipped with five cleaning modes, it's versatile enough for any giftee, and its slim charger fits easily into most toiletry bags. You can't go wrong with black, but the toothbrush is also available in gold, a Hello Kitty theme, and a Barbie edition.

    Theragun Mini (2nd Generation)

The Theragun Mini 2 is a dream for active sightseers (or anyone who has spent hours wedged in a middle seat). It's 20 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than the original, and it fits easily into a carry-on or tote bag. Compatible with the Therabody app, it’s ideal for a quick recovery in between flights or after a long day of exploring. The Mini also includes three attachments and a soft case, though not all attachments fit inside at once. Check out our Best Theraguns guide for more.

    Photograph: EvolveTogether

    evolvetogether

5 black KN95 masks (Rio de Janeiro)

In our post-pandemic world, I can't imagine stepping foot into an airport without a face mask. KN95s may not be the most thrilling gift, but this five-pack from evolvetogether has a luxe factor that most would appreciate. They’re six-ply (with a water-resistant exterior), made with activated charcoal to reduce odors, and they’re hypoallergenic—so your giftee won’t have to worry about skin care when nerves are already at their peak.

  • Music That Travels

There are moments when you just need a portable speaker (instead of earbuds or headphones)—like when you're jamming with friends, singing in the shower, or lounging at the beach. Reviewer Ryan Waniata describes the JBL Clip 5 speaker as having a warm sound, with fuller bass and midrange frequencies. You can clip it onto yourself (with its included carabiner) while sightseeing or cycling through a new city. It's also dust- and water-resistant, so it's safe to use in the shower.

  • Sleep Through Jet Lag

Bearby Tencel Sleep Masks shown in purple blue and black

    Photograph: Bearaby

Traveling means sacrificing the comfort of your bed and sometimes facing unpredictable sleeping conditions. A sleep eye mask is a small luxury that makes even the least ideal sleep arrangements more tolerable. I love Bearaby's full temple-to-temple coverage and gentle fit—it doesn't squeeze your head like some of the ones that airlines hand out. Made from natural eucalyptus fibers, it's breathable and anti-frizz, perfect if you're someone who styles their hair before flights.

  • Weekender for Every Trip

    Lo Sons OG bag

    Courtesy of Lo & Sons

A larger version of Lo & Sons' Nouvelle purse, the O.G. 2 is ready for anything—work commutes, overnights, full-day excursions—with a place for just about every essential. It has an exterior laptop sleeve for quick access at TSA (bless), a side compartment for shoes, and interior pockets for the rest of your travel accessories (including a slot for your emotional support water bottle). This is reviews editor Adrienne So’s go-to personal item for weekend trips; it's smaller than a duffel, fits under a flight seat, and is designed with a trolley sleeve to secure onto a suitcase. For more options, read our Best Tote Bags guide.
